After arriving into Vancouver you will be greeted by Amaco staff and our local operators and assisted with your luggage before transferring to our hotel.

Following breakfast you will transfer to the airport for the domestic flight to Calgary which takes around 90 minutes.

AFTERNOON

On landing you’ll again be assisted with your luggage and then board a luxury coach for the transfer to the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. We’ve allowed some free time after group check-in during which you can make your way into Banff township or enjoy the hotel’s spa and other amenities.

Conference Sessions 1 & 2 take place at the hotel this morning for registered delegates. Free time for non-conference participants.

AFTERNOON

Following lunch for all participants, there will be by a photographic workshop in which a local professional photographer will share techniques for capturing the breathtaking beauty of the Rockies. The session will be tailored to suit those with cameras and those who are happy to use their smartphones and tablets. The workshop begins in the hotel and then moves outdoors where
you can put your newfound skills to the test.

Banff Sightseeing Tour

As the oldest and largest town in the Canadian National Parks, Banff owes its existence to the discovery of hot mineral springs on the slopes of the nearby Sulphur Mountain. You’ll travel by gondola to the top of the mountain for panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys after which you will witness the unusual geological formations known as ‘the Hoodoos’, see the Bow Falls and Tunnel Mountain Drive. Your morning activity finishes with a visit to Cave and Basin which commemorates the birthplace of Canada’s National Park system, established in 1885.

AFTERNOON

Enjoy lunch at an iconic Banff restaurant with the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

We’ve left the morning free so you can enjoy some extra sleep or get up early to make the most of your last few hours in Banff. You’ll leave the hotel late-morning and head to the Banff Centre for Performing Arts. We’ve got a reservation at the Vistas Dining Room where a leading Canadian chef and his team have re-invented buffet dining. The menu is inspired by fresh local ingredients and is only outshone by the views of the Massive Mountain Range and Bow Valley through the floor to ceiling windows.

AFTERNOON

Following lunch, the group will transfer by coach to Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

NIGHT

You’ll have some free time in the afternoon before coming back together for dinner at the hotel.

Lunch is served at the hotel for all participants followed by a free afternoon. You’re free to do anything from half day guided walks, canoeing, horseback riding or even rock climbing for the more adventurous. For those who prefer something a little more laid back, hop on the Lake Louise Gondola and take the ride to the summit to enjoy the majestic Canadian Rockies from a bird’s eye perspective.

Yoho National Park Tour

Set out today on a full day tour to Yoho National Park and surrounds. You’ll begin by travelling west along the Trans-Canada Highway, across the Great Divide and through Kicking Horse Pass into the scenic wonders of Yoho NP, which in the native Cree dialect means ‘awesome’. Highlights of today’s tour include the Spiral Tunnels and the Takakkaw Falls (meaning ‘it is magnificent’ in Cree) which are fed by the Daly Glacier and fall over 260 metres. We’ve allowed time for you to take in the beauty of this area and put some of your newly earned photography skills to the test.

AFTERNOON

Enjoy lunch on the shores of Emerald Lake before heading to the quaint town of Field with its unique artisan stores. Return to the hotel late afternoon with ample time to freshen up prior to dinner.

Icefields Parkway

Say farewell to the shores of Lake Louise as we head to the Icefields Parkway, a 232km stretch of highway that runs through
the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site. This world class route offers access to a vast wilderness of pristine mountain lakes, ancient glaciers and broad sweeping valleys. On reaching the Athabasca Glacier you will board a specially designed “Snocoach” which will take you to the middle of the glacier. Here you will have the opportunity to step onto the ice, some of which was formed by snow that fell as many as 400 years ago.

AFTERNOON

Following a picnic lunch you’ll be transferred to the Skywalk – a jaw-dropping walk along a glass floored platform at the cliff’s edge. The transfer continues to the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.

Maligne Valley Tour

Our afternoon tour today will take us to Maligne Valley – home to a wide range of flora and fauna and some unique geological features. A stop at Maligne Canyon will allow you to explore the two bridges, offering fantastic views of the cascading waterfall
and continuing erosion of the ancient limestone. As the tour continues into the Valley you will ascend into the subalpine forests and view the masses of limestone rising out of Medicine Lake. This area is prime habitat for moose, bears, and the elusive Mountain Caribou.

Lunch is served on board the Rocky Mountaineer.

Your journey towards Vancouver and the Pacific Ocean continues today. Witness dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the Interior, through winding river canyons and pristine forests, to the Coast and Cascade Mountains and onwards the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley.

AFTERNOON

Highlights include the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon. Your rail journey ends on arrival in Vancouver where you will be met and transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
